FRY’S COOL CA$H CARDS

Cool Ca$h is Fry’s Food Stores on-going commitment to Arizona’s schools and children. Through this and other similar programs, Fry’s has contributed over $11.5 million to Arizona schools

PROGRAM DETAILS

-easy to use

-just print out the bar code and take it to any Fry’s Food Stores

-present the barcode to the Fry’s cashier, the cashier will scan your “cool ca$h” barcode and your V.I.P. card, this will automatically link your V.I.P card to St Joseph School.

-all you need to do is have our barcode linked ONCE to your V.I.P card, and that’s it!! Every time you make a purchase with your V.I.P card, St Joseph’s school will get credit for your purchase.

-please hand out this barcode to Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, friends, godparents and anyone who shops at Fry’s Food Stores and wants to support St Joseph Eagles.

-This program will run until April, 2012.

-WE NEED EVERYONE TO PARTICIPATE!!

eScrip for Eagles!

TIME TO RENEW! Even if you just signed up recently, eScrip requires that you renew at the end of October/early November timeframe. eScrip is a great way to give back to St. Joe’s just by doing your normal, everyday shopping. Let’s get started or renewed!

eSCRIP is proven to be a fantastic resource for fundraising where participating business partners contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty cards, credit card and debit/ATM card purchases to the school.

eSCRIP is easy to use and once you sign up- that’s it!! It’s an automatic, passive fundraising program that has the ability to generate thousand’s of dollars for St Joseph Catholic School.

Here is how to get started:

Go to www.escrip.com
Select St Joseph Catholic School, Group ID 6570651
Register your Safeway Club Card and any Credit or Debit/ATM cards. By using registered cards at participating merchants, you will be earning donations based on a percentage determined by each merchant or provider.
Periodically log in and review your monthly purchase reports and contributions made to the school
Once you register your cards: THAT’S IT, the rest is automatically done for you!!

eSCRIP studies show that with average expenditures of $400.00 per month at participating merchants, 200 supporters can contribute $48,000.00 per year!! So be sure to ask extended family members and friends who live in and out of the area to participate.

Chess Club is back in action!!!

We are excited to see familiar faces and new members!

When? Fridays, 12:40 p.m.

Where? TBA (tentatively the school library)

Who? Everyone who wants their son or daughter to: Improve focus, concentration, discipline and logical thinking. Our Chess Club not only improves academic achievements, we have a lot of fun!

Your child does not need to know how to play chess to join as all skill levels are encouraged. Our Coach, Amanda Mateer, is amazing with the kids and a nationally rated chess expert.

If you are not able to attend the sign up/orientation on September 2nd please contact the school office and a registration pamphlet will be sent home with your child.

Book Fair Success

The Book Fair was a huge success! Thanks to the parents and relatives of our Eagles who supported the fair. The proceeds go to further develop our Eagles minds through the wonders of reading. More details to come!

Mrs. Kwader Receives the Elizabeth Ann Seton Award

Each year for the past ninteen years, Salpointe Catholic High School has presented the Elizabeth Ann Seton Award to an outstanding individual or individuals who have made significant contributions to Catholic education in the Diocese of Tucson. Educating Our Children: Catholic Schools Doing More With Less

President Obama challenged high schools across the county to compete against each other in the second annual “Race to the Top” educational success program for the chance to have him give the commencement address at their graduation. Not included in the contest, though, are the more than 2 million students in America’s Catholic schools.

If they could participate, the nation’s parochial schools would be fearsome competitors. A 2009 comparison between public and Catholic school SAT scores show that public school students had an overall average of 496 points on the critical reading portion of the test while Catholic school students scored 533 points on the same portion. Catholic school students outscored their public school counterparts by an average of 23 points.
