The
Saint Joseph School Education Foundation was formed in 1994 in order to provide
sustainable financial support for the school. The Foundation exists to
further the school's philosophy of strong religious and academic education.
The
Endowment is managed by the Northern Trust Bank. Earnings from the
Endowment's investments are distributed annually by the Board of Trustees in
support of specific projects that enhance education at the school.
The
Foundation raises funds through two special events -- a golf tournament each
fall and a dinner dance in the spring. In addition, the Foundation
solicits donations from members of the Saint Joseph Parish, school alumni,
friends and the community at large.
Recently,
the Foundation has supported a number of acquisitions and improvements ranging
from restocking the library with hundreds of new books to computers and
technology for the classrooms and furniture for the computer lab.
Additionally, as new study and teaching programs are discovered, the Foundation
purchases the materials and equipment necessary to unsure that students
attending St. Joseph School realize the best education possible.
The
Foundation Board meets on a monthly basis or as needed in advance of special events.
